Monitor Audio PLC150 Platinum Center Speaker w/ Custom Solid Maple Stand

Monitor Audio Platinum PLC150 center speaker for sale by original owner.  The speaker is in  gorgeous gloss black lacquer, and purchased new August 27, 2015. I didn't open the box and install until approx. 6 weeks later, mid October, when I received the custom speaker stand. Speaker has 2 X 6-1/2" mid/bass drivers, and 1 X ribbon tweeter, is 4 ohms nominal impedance, and has a weight of 42 lbs. At only 22" wide, it is a heavy speaker. Cost of speaker was $3,500 plus sales tax.

Includes a Mapleshade solid maple plinth (speaker stand), handmade by the Amish, and custom made for this PLC150. Plinth is finished with several coats of hand-applied black semigloss lacquer. Front two solid brass footers (for proper coupling) are powder-coated semigloss black, while the rear two footers (likely not seen once speaker is in permanent position in your room) are standard brass. There is also a fifth brass footer (also powder-coated black) to position under the front of the speaker to set the proper angle of the speaker, aiming it just above the listener's ears when seated in the sweet spot. The typical time from ordering such a plinth until receipt is 8 weeks. A solid maple stand is the best way to couple your speaker for optimal performance. The four footers beneath the plinth are radiused for non-carpeted floors. Plinth is 4" tall (thick), and the footers are 2" tall, and the plinth and footers weigh approx. 45 lbs. The plinth has a brass post in each rear corner to keep the speaker from pushing back. The quality of this stand cannot be overstated. Cost of plinth and brass footers was $1,038 including freight and sales tax.

Speaker and plinth are literally like brand-new. The speaker has minimal playing time, does not have the suggested run-in time of approx. 100 hours per Monitor Audio, and has never been driven above low levels. Have original boxes for speaker and plinth, and everything that was originally in boxes before being opened.

Reason for sale is that I changed my room speaker layout, and replaced this PLC150 with the PLC350.  And have also ordered a new maple plinth for the PLC350.
