Ayre Acoustics V-6xe 2-Channel Ultra Pure Power Amplifier

Ayre power amplifiers deliver a new dimension of realism to your listening experience.  Its unique modular mono design, feeds sixteen high-current output devices per channel to deliver stunning performance.  The V-6x features a fully-balanced, zero-feedback design to precisely reconstruct the original soundtrack immersing you in sonic reality.     It also has larger mains than the newer V5xe to support additional channels.

Ayre gets behind the argument that superior sound (“which precisely reconstructs the original sound stage”) is delivered by amplifier designs that integrate zero feedback and fully balanced discrete circuity. It certainly works for the specs of its v6xe, with is very capable of driving up to six channels with 150 watts (into 8 ohms) continuously (With additional amplifier modules). The V6xe comes standard with 3 channels but it can be ordered with anywhere from 2 to 6.  The standard 3 channel version is $8500 and each channel adds $1250.  Each expansion module add almost 5.5 Lbs.  Almost as much as some audio video receivers!

Ayre is somewhat obsessed with filtering interference from mains power, believing that noise-free current helps protect the integrity to the audio signal. To this end, the v6x is equipped with I-E transformers, which the company believes are better at rejecting AC line noise than more conventional toroidal designs. Then there’s ‘AyreConditioner’, a feature that works to dissipate mains power noise as heat, so that the v6xe’s sensitive audio circuity receives only pure, clean current, that is free of interference.

This unit is an open box, but new unit.  Its was used briefly for a client demo.  Includes everything you'd get with a brand new unit including a 5 year warranty. In excellent  condition. 

NOTE:  Each of the large screw terminals on the back contains both the + and - connections.  There are 2 connection point under each post.  This is a stereo (2-channel) amplifier.
