Description and details below:

NT Series now to the point where amplifiers designed for music are increasingly inadequate for reproducing audio/video soundtracks. They simply lack the necessary combination of clarity and brute audio power to faithfully re-create film dynamics — a situation likely to worsen as A/V sound sources improve. This is why Lexicon has developed the NT Series of THX Ultra®-approved power amplifiers. The huge reserves of power in the NT amplifiers provide more than ample headroom, and are perfectly suited to support the extended dynamic range inherent in these new formats. The vanishingly low noise of these amplifiers assures the quietest, cleanest power imaginable, while their awesome authority results in precise control over any loudspeaker. NT amplifiers have been designed and manufactured for absolute linearity and stability. Utilizing a unique of connections and configurations are accommodated, as well as unique features specific to complex multi-channel audio systems.

We believe that an amplifier’s goal is simple: to amplify the signal, accurately and cleanly, into any load, without imparting any coloration or distortion. Indeed, the distortion components of the Lexicon NT power amplifiers push the limits of sophisticated test instruments. More significantly, their sound can best be described as utterly neutral. While the amplifier’s goal is simple, its job is not. Over twenty years of amplifier research and design have resulted in products that perform flawlessly, year after year. Sophisticated engineering, manufacturing, and testing are combined with meticulous craftsmanship and pride, so you can enjoy the music and the movies — and forget about the equipment.

The 512 contains five 120 watt amplifiers (200 watts into 4ohms) which can be used to run an entire five channel home theater system. Although housed in a single chassis, the 512 suffers none of the performance compromises typical of multi-channel amplifiers. Consisting of five amplifier modules, each with its own separate toroidal power transformer, the 512 is capable of the same exceptional low noise, high current performance that is characteristic of all NT series amplifiers. In systems requiring more than five channels, it can be seamlessly integrated with other NT series amplifiers. The 512 is equally suited for music or movie soundtracks, reproducing even the most demanding source material with authority and finesse.

All NT amplifiers accept RCA-type unbalanced phono type plugs, XLR balanced and 1/4 inch tip/ring/sleeve balanced connectors. All connectors are gold plated for maximum corrosion resistance. Input gain structures are matched to connection type via a rear panel slide switch. Output connectors are heavy-duty gold plated binding posts which can be used with bare wire, pins or banana type connectors. A Signal Ground Lift is also provided, extremely useful in reducing hum caused by ground loops which are common in complex systems.

NT SERIES SPECIFICATIONS

New sound sources and digital formats, especially those associated with home theater, are placing greater demands on power amplification - to the point where amplifiers designed for music are increasingly inadequate for reproducing audio/video soundtracks. They simply lack the necessary combination of clarity and brute audio power to faithfully re-create film dynamics; a situation likely to worsen as A/V sound sources improve. This is why Lexicon has developed the NT Series of THX-approved power amplifiers.

Utilizing a unique Quad-Complementary output stage, the amplifiers produce less distortion than even Class A designs, with higher efficiency and better long term reliability. A wide variety of i/o connections and configurations are accommodated, as well as unique features specific to complex multi-channel audio systems.

While the amplifier’s goal is simple, it’s job is not. Over 20 years of amplifier research and design have resulted in products that perform flawlessly, year after year. Sophisticated engineering, manufacturing, and testing are combined with meticulous craftsmanship and pride, so you can enjoy the music and the movies and forget about the equipment. All NT amplifiers accept RCA type unbalanced phone type plugs, XLR balanced and 1/4 inch tip/ ring/sleeve balanced connectors. All these connectors are gold plated for maximum corrosion resistance. Input gain structures are matched to connection type via a rear panel slide switch.

Output connectors are heavy duty gold plated 5 way binding posts which can be used with bare wire, pins, lugs, or banana type connectors.

A Signal Ground Lift is also provided, extremely useful in reducing hum cause by ground loops which are common in complex systems.

NT amplifiers have superb AC line filtration (one of the reasons for their remarkable dynamic range), and massive rugged chassis to eliminate environmental interference.

A remote low voltage (5-15v) trigger sensor is included on every model. Power-on can be immediate, or delayed 1,2,3, or 4 seconds, eliminating the need for an external power sequencer.

All accept RCA-type unbalanced phono, XLR balanced and 1/4-inch TRS balanced connectors; all connectors are gold-plated. A signal ground lift is provided for reducing hum caused by ground loops. AC line filtering and a remote low voltage (5-15v) trigger sensor is included with every model.

Both these amplifiers have been PCX-Certified….cleaned inside and out, all chassis blemishes touched up or re-painted, all hardware replaced, refurbished internally as necessary with factory parts, fully bench tested, burned in…and sold with 1 year P&L warranty.
