Sonus Faber Elipsa SE - Stunning Graphite Maple

Based on the nearly $50,000 Stradivari, the Elipsa is a highly refined Italian loudspeaker which was regarded at the CES show it was first released, as, "One of the finest sounds heard at this years show".  This model, the new SE includes an upgraded crossover and improved mid-range driver.  

I don't know about you, but I can't think of another loudspeaker manufacturer that puts as much into creating models that are as stunningly beautiful in form as they are in function.  The cabinet is inspired by the idea of a pair of conjoined lutes, which naturally results in an enclosure that is wider than it is deep.  The shape creates an infinite baffle for the drivers.  This greatly improves the interaction of the room itself from the sonic equation allowing the speaker to sound like its in a much larger space, and not be constricted by smaller listening rooms.

Even the cabinet materials, hand-selected staves of layered maple, are specifically oriented to reduce resonance.  What speakers manufacturer using MDF ever considers these kind of details or can even think to control them?

All of the drivers used on the Elipsa are unique to Sonus Faber and designed for specific performance characteristics.

This particular pair is a beloved showroom demo set and is in fantastic condition.  They have never been sold and will include a full manufacturers warranty along with our WIRED guarantee.  The cabinets are immaculate as are the drivers and grills.  Only the bottom has some light scratches from set-up and moving.  One has a finish chip on the bottom about the size of 2 dimes where it was bumped during moving, but nothing visible when the speaker is upright.
