Silvaweld SWC 450 Preamp Fantastic Little Giant (4" x 9" x 12")

Silvaweld is a Korean brand which has received accolades in the enthusiast press. (Look it up on Google.) This unit is titled a "Control Amp" but that just means a normal line level preamp. This is the sample unit sent to a US dealer when the company was attempting to enter the US market, a plan which did not succeed. The unit is extremely well built. Look at the volume control and you will see stepped resistors—the best method of adjusting gain and a technique only found on the most expensive of high end preamps. The RCA inputs were originally too narrowly spaced to accept high end RCA jacks so I had premier tube repairman, Bob Walters of Portland OR, replace them with seven pairs of Cardas RCA jacks, a significant upgrade. The sound quality is truly excellent in all ways. Though the company is no longer in business, you would have no trouble with repairs should you ever need them. Tube equipment is easy to trouble shoot. By the way, Bob Walters just checked out the unit on April 28th and gave it a clean bill of health including the tubes.(Paperwork included)  I include two extra AY7 tubes.
