For many years this was the gold standard of turntables. It is still exceptional. This is an excellent condition example which has been in regular use by me for the last several years.
There are no significant scratches or marks, outside of little "swirlies" in the glossy black materal and the cover. The Controller is in very good condition with some light scratches in the black paint on the top left side of the cover.
The T3 arm provides very accurate adjustment of the position of the arm to within about 1 groove width as observed by an adjustment about every couple seconds.
You don't operate the arm manually. The controller provides for fully automatic operation: Press the 12" or 7" button, and the controller does the rest, returning the arm to it's rest position when finished. I've used it with a Transfiguration Temper and Ortofon Cadenza Black with very good results.
The controller works reliably for routine operation but the controller can become confused after multiple raise/lower/in/out positioning operations. This is eliminated by stopping the arm, being ready to manually raise it off the record if needed.
Because an optical sensor is used to detect the need for arm correction, and for common sense, the unit should not be placed/operated in brightly lit areas.
This is a later production unit, featuring the JVC direct drive motor. I also have the following accessories: heavy counterweight, alternate suspension spring, arm damping fluid, spare arm drive belt. The installed arm drive belt has been in use for a year or two.
