For Sale:
(1) gently used Cardas Audio Myrtle Heart (Copper) Moving Coil Phono Cartridge. This cartridge has so few hours of use on it, it hasn't even reached the recommended break-in period of 40 hours. It has been used only in a professional audio mastering environment in the QC listening of lacquers and test pressings. Some have asked me to describe the sound of the Myrtle Heart cartridge -I can only say that it doesn't seem to have a "sound;" that it is correct, balanced, and musical and conveys the sound of the original master quite accurately. I would know, as I had made the master recordings being played.
The Cardas Audio Myrtle Heart is sold with the original box and parts as pictured in the photos.
As a bonus, I'll include (1) NEW Limited Edition LP release by a well-known audiophile label with the purchase of this cartridge. The masters & test pressings of this release were QC'd using this same Cardas Heart cartridge. Please contact me with any questions.
About the Cardas Audio Myrtle Heart:
A Great Cartridge at Heart
The Cardas Myrtle Heart phono cartridge, with its copper-wound, square Ruby jewel plate, is a highly evolved cartridge. The Myrtle Heart is extremely tough and reliable, as well as being one of the most musically pleasing of all cartridges. Its vented Myrtlewood body is a unique vibration damper for resonance control.
Myrtle Heart is a highly evolved cartridge built on a unique Benz chassis. A well-seasoned Myrtle Heart cartridge performs well at a high input impedance of 47 if the system is quiet. A lower impedance of 500-1.5 k works if the system tends to the cartridge is not broken-in. The Myrtle Heart has a standard output of 0.3 mV, which is within the capability of most modern high-quality pre-amps.
The character of the Cardas Myrtle Heart is lasting musicality. It is well engineered, strong and majestic. It brings the lasting luxury of detailed, life like music.
The Myrtle Heart Body:
The Cardas Myrtle Heart body is made from America's most beautiful hardwood, the legendary Myrtle tree. Rarest of all woods, this symmetrical, broadleaf, evergreen Myrtle grows only in Southwestern Oregon (Coos and Curry counties) and the Biblical Holy Lands.
Myrtlewood has a very complex grain structure. The coloring of the wood is unique, varying from a sedate, satiny gray to riotously, multicolored grains of red, yellow, and brown, with many and shapes in its grain. Denser than Oak, unseasoned Myrtle logs will not float.

Questions for the seller |
---|
Hi, based on the description you made on the cartridge as "Myrtle Heart cartridge -I can only say that it doesn't seem to have a "sound;" that it is correct, balanced, and musical and conveys the sound of the original master quite accurately. " May I know is there anything wrong with the cartridge. Maybe defective from factory.
Thank you. The cartridge has been working perfectly and has very few hours on it (less than 40). I am selling due to changing business here. |
Hi, May I know how much will the shipping cost be to Singapore.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eric Thank you for the inquiry. Shipping by United States Postal Service International Priority service with insurance, the cost is between $50 - $60 USD. The package is larger because I am including (1) LP with the cartridge. The shipping cost (only) would be less if you did not want the bonus LP. There will also be an international transaction fee from PayPal that would be added to the final invoice. Thank you for considering the auction! |
