$2,000 Synergistic Research Galileo Universal Interconnect Cell
This XLR version of the Pre-Amp to Power Amp Set is an A stock set, in like new condition with original packaging. We are selling this set as well as a Speaker Cell Kit for one of our wonderful customers. Actually, this customer is the one who introduced us to Synergistic Research's great line of products, more about that later. The Galileo Cell was one of Synergistic's most sought after products until they stopped making them last year. I believe that they did so because it was a very costly product to make with many different parts to it. I know that both customers and employees of Synergistic Research (SR) were sad to see it go because they felt that it was one of the best sounding products SR made. But it was always one of the things that sold in small volumes to people who already had good systems and good cables who were looking to add something even a step above. Of course that is a smaller market than what you have for something like a PowerCell which everyone needs. Synergistic Research just came out with a new PowerCell design, the PowerCell 12 UEF, incorporating Uniform Energy Field Technology. Also available are the PowerCell 12 UEF S and PowerCell 12 UEF SE models with a glass top (this last model is the one that High End Zone customers are all buying) . The first ones are shipping from SR this week, so call us or email us to get yours if you don't have a local dealer.
It's a shame they stopped making the Galileo cells but Synergistic products basically last forever. Aside from a different unit that got damaged in shipping and some of the little tuning bullets needing to be replaced over time, I have never known anything of theirs to break down in many years of owning their products myself and selling vast numbers of them. I cannot say that for very many other companies. Ypsilon is another company that I've also never heard of anything from them breaking down. So it's super reliable stuff. And of course we are here to back the product we sell and so is Synergistic Research. All their products are made in the USA and repair is readily available there should it ever be needed. So I would not have any worry over buying this product just because they don't make this model any more. In truth, it probably makes it more valuable.
The Galileo Universal Interconnect Cell is designed to connect to the end of your source to pre-amp interconnect, and at the beginning of your pre to power amp interconnect. They are based on the technology found in SR's PowerCell, using their quantum tunneling technique. All of our clients who use them and all the reviews we have read have all agreed that it is amazing what happens when this Galileo Interconnect Cell is put into your music's path.
Howard Kneller from Sound Stage Ultra "was immediately confronted with faster, cleaner, more detailed, more dynamic sound than I had ever heard from my system. Soundstaging, three-dimensionality, and image solidity also improved. What was left? Well, pretty much everything took a significant leap forward, but what really struck me was the improvement in refinement." We're listing this as a 8/10 because it is used and has two very small flaws that only one out of the three of us in the office here noticed. In the pictures below I will show where they are. They are minor but as buyers of high end gear ourselves, we know how awful it feels to receive something and find a flaw that was not disclosed. We never want that to happen to you, our valued customer, on any of our listings. So we do our best, and sometimes pictures can't show flaws in glossy black items- but we are still going to tell you about it.

One of the two small flaws in this set is most noticeable in the following picture, even though two out of the other three pictures with this cell in it do not really show the flaw. The flaw is a small worn spot in the acrylic case on the left edge, almost in line with the "A" in GALILEO.

2-step Quantum Tunneling Process This Galileo Universal Interconnect Cell XLR set has been carefully used in not only a dedicated room, but actually a dedicated building that the owner had built to house his beautiful system. He treats his gear with as much care as I have ever seen from any owner. It's not played loud for parties or anything like many people's systems are, this is just one audiophile's retreat from the world where he goes and carefully pulls out a record, cleans it with his Audio Desk record cleaner and plays it on his Lloyd Walker Black Diamond V turntable which is connected to a top of the line Audio Research phono stage, Allnic L3000 Preamp, Ypsilon SET 100 Ultimate power amps and the ultimate reference speaker system from Scaena, their top of the line $165,000 1.3 Master Reference system. This particular pair of Scaena speakers were in Harry Pearson's famous demo room on Long Island where they were his reference pair of speakers for 8 years through various upgrades and despite the fact that all the other manufacturers were trying to get Harry Pearson to take out the Scaenas and put in a pair of their best speakers. After the speakers left Harry's, they were upgraded yet again and installed into Terry's system in the fall of 2013. We were saddened when Mr. Pearson passed on the next year. He contributed as much as anyone to this hobby that we love. I bow my head in reverent appreciation for all that he has contributed to the appreciation of music and audiophile gear. And now, back to the reason for this particular listing...
Our relationship with SR began as soon as our client learned about the PowerCell technology, he called us up and we became Synergistic Research dealers within the week- his enthusiasm was that contagious! Once our client installed his first PowerCell, he was immediately impressed by what a difference it made in his system. He soon began to buy other Synergistic components, and with every addition a new aspect of his amazing system would be revealed. Since then I have had a number of customers do that. It seems that everything they try from SR makes a big difference in their systems and they end up coming back to buy more. He started off buying one SR PowerCell to try it out. Today he has at least 25 of their products in his system and he can't stop talking about how much they have done to improve the sound. Even if you come in to our demo room or go to another dealer and hear what the Speaker Cells, Tranquility Bases, actively shielded cables, PowerCells and other SR technology can do, you still don't really know how they will sound to you in your own system and your own home unless you try them out. So here's a chance to try something out at lower cost than most of SR's other products. We highly recommend everything SR makes, they are a quality company and I don't think that you can go wrong with any of their products, all of which are hand crafted in the USA. There are a lot of cable companies out there which basically just throw together cables from various materials. SR is not like that, their CEO is a true inventor who keeps coming up with brilliant new ways of making our systems sound better.
At CES in 2014 we visited the Synergistic Research room for the first time, and my son, who was 13 at the time, was with me and the Tranquility Bases were one of the things that impressed him the most in the 4 day show. He was blown away that a Base that a component sits on could make such a change in the audio from the whole system! Later in the show, when we were in the YG Acoustics room, they were demoing the same speakers and one of their guys was asking me to become a dealer for YG. He asked my son how he liked the sound and he said that he liked it but that the gentleman should go and hear the same YG speakers in the Synergistic suite because they sounded much better in there! I actually think that Synergistic had less expensive gear in their setup, and a smaller suite. But they definitely made the speakers sound better with their technology. I talked to 2 other guys who heard both rooms and agreed with me and my son on that. It's often hard to hear the differences between systems, especially between electronics and cables, at a show like CES. The rooms have poor acoustics and there are so many factors that influence the sound. We found this out first hand at T.H.E. Show Newport in early June 2016. We occupied a penthouse suite where we played the music of our guest's choosing while using a full loom of Verastarr cables, along with Acoustic Zen Maestro speakers, Ypsilon electronics (including the world premiere of the Aelius II monoblocks) and the Aurender W20 music server. As I mentioned before, there are two small flaws in this set. I mentioned one above and here is the other, a small worn spot in the label that you may see below the "PRE" here: Obviously the flaws present in this set are small and purely cosmetic, the set is fully functional!

Available in both single-ended and XLR terminations, Galileo Universal Interconnect Cells improve the performance of all interconnect cables."

We accept payment by PayPal and wire transfers from anywhere in the world and cashier's checks drawn on US banks. We will also accept escrow if the buyer pays the fee.

In general, our policy is that any flaw, damage, missing item, incorrect item, etc. must be reported to High End Zone by email no later than 3 days (72 hours) after that item is delivered. All sales are final with no returns or exchanges allowed unless the buyer finds a defect and reports it to High End Zone within 72 hours after delivery. If the buyer finds a defect and reports it to High End Zone by email within 72 hours after the item is delivered then High End Zone will repair, replace, or refund at our option.

In rare cases we have allowed a return to happen for a 20% restocking fee. Any item that is returned to us due to any reason other than the item not working properly or not in the condition we describe, the buyer will be charged a 20% restocking fee. This includes sales where the buyer "changes his mind", where his wife beats him over the head for spending too much money, where some unforeseen crisis, financial or otherwise, strikes the buyer, his family, his friends/ business/ job/ pets/ favorite sports team/ etc. or any other reason that the buyer may seek to cancel the sale or return the item for some reason other than a mistake or discrepancy on the High End Zone's part. And this includes cases where the buyer changes his mind and wants to cancel the sale before he even receives the item, possibly before we even ship it. We are a small company and the moment a buyer commits to purchase one of our items we are redeploying our capital to get other items for our customers to buy. If you decide 2 hours or 2 minutes after you buy something that you don't want it anymore, chances are we've already spent the money to restock. So the restocking fee absolutely applies in all cases of buyers changing their minds, wanting to cancel a sale after it is agreed or returning an item for any reason other than High End Zone providing a flawed or incorrect item. This does not mean that we will agree to accept a return or to allow for the cancelation of an order where a buyer changes his mind. An order is a contract to purchase and we are setting aside the goods for you the moment you order them. You would never want us to accept a higher offer after we accepted yours and sell the goods to someone else, and we would never do that. By the same token, we expect you to follow through on what you have contractually promised to do and to pay for your item as agreed.

So for example, if a buyer who used PayPal were to apply to PayPal for a refund because he changed his mind about purchasing an item, then IF we did give that refund it would be less the 20% restock fee. So the moral of the story is, if you're not sure you want it, just don't buy, wait until you actually are sure, and then buy. It's the same as if you're going to buy a house, you don't sign the contract til you and your wife are sure you want the house and can afford it. I feel like an idiot for having to say this but we have had a number of people who think "I changed my mind." or "My wife says I can't buy the amp." just magically gets them out of a contract they agreed to with us. With no consideration that we have incurred costs above and beyond the listing fees. By taking it off the market we may have lost potentially perfect buyers and we will have to spend more on listings fees and so on. So, we have to be strict about this and ask that buyers please be conscientious here. We charge low margins, that's only possible if people follow through and pay for items as agreed. So while all sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges unless you receive a defective item and report that within 3 days as specified above, IF for some reason we do agree to accept your return or cancel your order when there is no mistake or defect on High End Zone's part, then you agree to pay us the 20% restocking fee on your order.

In the case of items that are shipped internationally the buyer is responsible to make sure the item clears customs in a timely manner. We've had cases where buyers waited a long time to pay their customs bill, delaying the release of the item. The trouble with that is we need to know promptly if there is any problem with your item so that we can file a shipping claim if needed or withhold payment from a consignor or a supplier on a defective item, etc. So we now require that any item be picked up from Customs within 5 business days or less in order to preserve the buyer's protections for shipping damage and defective merchandise under our selling policies. We discourage the use of Postal Mail as it may be harder to meet this deadline using that shipping method. Generally FedEx will clear items within one business day.

We can sometimes make an exception to some of the above policies if you change your mind in order to buy something else that we can sell you that costs more. For example, if you make a deal to buy a JL f113 from us and then you decide that what you REALLY want is a Gotham g213, then we can probably work it out to make that switch for you without a restocking fee. That said, please don't buy if you're not sure that you want the item you are buying. If you need to check with your wife, your broker, your business partner, your kids, or the Supreme Court before you buy, please do that. The High End Zone cannot be held responsible for any case of wives beating their husbands for spending too much money on good gear!
