VALVET Soulshine "Pure" Line Stage Preamplifier

Up for your consideration is the Soulshine Pure preamplifier, the purist’s tube preamp with all the features of a sophisticated preamp in a slim, two piece package (separate power supply). If you are unfamiliar with VALVET the company, it’s been around for many years in northern Germany and the vision of Knut Cornils, designer and owner. More known for his solid-state, class A mono block amps, Knut decided to pair them with tubed preamp products. The "Pure" is one of his latest preamp designs and for the first time, includes a digital readout for volume.

This is the first piece I’ve owned from VALVET and can attest to its excellent build quality. Listening confirms that this modestly priced preamp competes with much more expensive brands. I’ve owned a few top preamp offerings from the likes of Audio Research, VAC, BAT, etc. and none gave me more musical enjoyment than the Soulshine. The stock 12AU7s it comes with are Genalex Gold Lions and sound very good, but tube rolling some NOS Telefunkens allowed this piece to really shine.

Product is in near mint condition and works flawlessly. Comes with all accessories. BONUS: Not sure why, but an Audience Power Chord SE (almost $900 retail!) was also included with the Soulshine Pure. Makes for a great combination.

like it should. Especially the harmony between silence and dynamics captivates
the listener right away
