Meitner
MA-1 Digital To Analog Converter

Ed
Meitner opened Meitner to offer products from his famed EMM Labs company at
less than reference prices using the exact same core circuitry, but with fewer
hand picked parts and regular circuit boards instead of ceramic circuit
boards.  The key proprietary circuit
modules (MFAST, MDAT, MDAC and MCLK) are reported to be the same as the ones
used in the much more expensive EMM Labs DAC’s and Players.

As
a test, my best friend and I, both crazy audiophiles, substituted in his $300K+
system the MA-1 DAC for his EMM Labs XDS1v2 CD and SACD player and after 3
weeks of listening concluded that the MA-1 actually had slightly more
articulation than the $25,000 XDS1v2.  A
comparison in my system with a $12,000 Ayon Stratos DAC produced an even
greater difference than with the EMM Labs XDS1v2

This
DAC has been used exclusively in my personal home system and is cosmetically
perfect except for a superficial scratch in the top back right corner of the
lid. It has always been powered via dedicated 20 amp circuits running through a
Shunyata Triton/Typhon AC conditioner powered by a Shunyata Anaconda Zitron PC
and directly powered by a Shunyata Sigma Digital PC plugged into the
Triton.  It has been connected to a
Spectral preamp via MIT MA-X2 interconnects and to a transport with a MIT MAX
S/PDIF cable.

The
unit has the latest firmware which was installed at the factory and deemed in
perfect electronic condition.

I
am selling this incredible unit and other pieces of my system because of a massive
decline in my hearing that essentially makes me audio deaf in my left ear.

I
must sell this unit by election day.
