Hickok TV-2/B/U which is actually the 2-C/U version electrically. No real difference except where a few resistors are located inside. The TV2 was used in the command and control centers,, the more common TV2 was used in the 'battle fields of Vietnam'.

It has been COMPLETELY rebuilt and calibrated to the Military Specifications.  In addition, we added plate current jacks to the deck (see picture) so you can match tubes by the all important current output or compare the milliamp output to the data books.

The photo shows a 6L6GC at 110% which compared to our Triplett 3444 within 1.5%, the 3444 indicated 50.4ma while the TV2 shows 57, the difference is the voltages each tester used for the test.

You can specifically tune the plate and screen to about 250vdc, the bias to about 50, all by the meters which have been checked for calibration.  This means you can look at a plate curve chart and experiment if you wanted to.  Otherwise, you set the selectors to the roll chart or supplement.

The TV2 does not show gm but rather 'percent' of new.  There is a way to calculate the gm in the manual, but the percent way works quite well.

Individual meters for filament, bias, plate voltage, screen voltage, and signal will tell you that you are applying voltages at the proper amount.

In addition to 'merit percent good', you can test for gas.  Test for diodes and rectifiers and voltage regulators.

One of the best things about the TV2 over many Kickok testers is being able to measure inner element leakage in ohms to one mega ohm (actually we measured to 4).  The TV7 can't, the 600 to 6000 series can't, only when you reach the 752a and the 539 types can you test for leakage.  Other wise you are stuck at 250 to 300K ohms which is to close to a short for audio.  We would never use a power tube that showed less than 1 mega ohm leakage because a little extra line or filament voltage and the leakage increases fast.

The deck is in very good condition.  The metal case has seen military wear and tear.

The manual is in government speak, but the quick and easy instructions are on the lid as shown.

This boy is VERY HEAVY, please keep that in mind, at well over 30 pounds.

Dual element tubes require several switches to be changed.

The price is very fair.  On ebay with no rebuild or calibration and certainly no current jacks, these sell for about $1,000.

Please make sure you want this, we don't want it back because of shipping costs which you are responsible for.

Address must be confirmed.  Shipping is expensive because of weight.

Questions for the seller
Will this tester test 6C33C tubes?
Hi Mark, The socket is there, the ability to specifically tune the voltages to the LOW end on the plate curve chart is there. About 120 to 140vdc at about -40ish grid is the area that can be tested. The limit is about -45 grid. That said, I do not know if it could test with both filaments burning, you might have to light one at a time. That tube needs a bout 2 or 3 minutes to get to operation, so testing one tube will be time consuming testing one side at a time. The TV2 transformer is quite large but 40 watts of filament demand is a heck of a lot, if both filaments are running. This is all VERY IFIE. If you want to send the tube down, I will give it a try. The tube MUST be new and in the box ( meaning reliable dealer not ebat seconds) so I know it is not some second or used tube which would be meaning less to even try. The test data sheet would also be nice for a reference point. You know this is a very odd and difficult tube, I make no assurance that this will work. I have to make the selector settings, since they do not exist. You are responsible or shipping both ways. Let me know if you want to do this, you would need to mail it ASAP. I can't suspend a $50 listing during this time just to test your tube, unless Audiogon would agree to that and not count it as a temporary hold. Bud
