Up for sale are a pair of some of my favorite amplifiers, possibly my very favorite. The only reason I am selling them is because I have a VAC Renaissance 70/70 Mk III and only one system that I cannot biamp. I'd rather someone have these to listen to than have them in storage in case I ever decide to create a second system.
These are amazing and not commonly seen for sale. This is the Mark 3 version and self bias, so are about as user friendly as possible. Serial numbers are 913401 and 932801 and were built in 1999. Both started their lives as two Renaissance 30/30 amps that were sent to Kevin to be made into the 30/70 Mk III. They have been recently gone through by VAC and have been given a clean bill of health.
These are said to be one of Kevin Hayes' finest, and perhaps the best triode amp ever made. The 300B is a magical tube that rarely is used for high power. The results give me goosebumps: accuracy, a deep 3 dimensional soundstage, a mid range that I haven't seen rivaled by any other amplifier. The 70 watts class A power per channel is impressive and never failed to drive any speaker I used with ease. It can also be set to 0 feedback, where I got the best results. I am including the supplied VAC 300B tubes, as I found these to be the best option. They are not new but sound fantastic. I do have a set of Shuguang treasure tubes, too, that I could include instead if the asking price is met. 6SN7 tubes I am using are Sylvania 6SN7GTB Black T Plate Chrome Dome and RCA 6SN7GTB. I think these are a great combination!
Details: The unit is self-biasing and rated at 70wpc would be a conservative statement. Amps weight around 78 lb each and I will use a separate box for the tubes but have the boxes sent from VAC for the amps.
I have these listed conservatively as 8/10 just for age of tubes if you go with the VAC branded 300B tubes; as mentioned, these were just reviewed by VAC.

Questions for the seller
Sorry that I am not familiar with VAC products. Thank you for quick response. However I do not think that my questions are answered. What does 30/70 mean? Are they two stereo power amps or a pair of monoblocks?
Hi, sorry for the confusion! They are a pair of monoblocks that do 70 watts class A power from 300B tubes.
