Artisan Fidelity Garrard 301 single tonearm configured plinth finished and displayed in beautiful hand selected Hawaiian Figured Koa. Displayed plinth currently in stock and available for immediate delivery. Plinth features a brand new set of 3/ea. Stillpoints Ultra SS isolation devices, Furutech IEC inlet, Locking OFC Copper Ground, and Ohno Mono Crystal Cryo treated Pure Copper AC Motor Wiring harness. To the best of our knowledge, no higher quality, more musical Garrard 301 wood based plinth currently exists on the market, period. The skillfully applied high tech glossy clear coat finish is well beyond a typical musical instrument ie. "guitar grade" and multiple times more costly plus quite time consuming to finish, however, this thin ultra clear finish has several inherent distinct advantages, namely by way of longevity, resistance to environmental temperature and humidity swings with superior stability over time, unlike inferior hand rubbed oil surface based finishes and thicker polymers. The time tested multi layer, tonewood based damped internal design architecture ensures silent backgrounds and ample dampening for mass loading and direct coupling of the non-suspended Garrard 301 idler drive. Internal cavities seal coated for additional protection against environmental elements. The displayed configuration accommodates nine to twelve inch effective length tonearms. Matched Figured Koa tonearm boards milled from resonant damped German Panzerholz.
Although our void-less plinth design is technically high mass, it is not in any way over damped, unlike many recent designs which often inhibit liveliness in favor of darkness and deadness, robbing the Garrard 301 of its inherent life, vibrancy and energy. Our proven tonewood plinth core Statement recipe simply allows the maximum energy of the musical landscape to flow without hindrance. Veneer thickness vary, depending upon wood species and ranges from 1/24" - 1/7" are typical after final sanding and prior to finishing. For clientele having specific design/material application requests, we provide a myriad of premium core construction and tonearm board materials for your consideration. These materials may range from Russian Birch, domestic hardwoods, imported exotic hardwoods, German Panzerholz, aircraft aluminum alloys, austenitic steels and Acetal Copolymers / Homopolymers. Artisan Fidelity's hand selected team consists of 3rd generation master woodworkers combined with a state of the art machining and finishing facility. We have been dedicated turntable plinth designers for 9 years and our Garrard 301 plinth design was carefully tuned by ear and finely developed over a period of 4 years for the ultimate musical expression and tonal characteristics. Each Garrard 301 plinth is now individually laid out, core hand assembled, bonded set and precision milled on a state of the art Bridgeport cnc mill, then painstakingly hand finished using premium spray sealers and surface coatings, as always skillfully hand buffed to perfection.
