McIntosh MHT-200

Lovingly used McIntosh MHT200, formerly owned by my late, great friend Jared. This unit was his baby and he babied it with love. In doing online research about this unit, I found this quote which seems appropriate: "The MHT200 is pretty much a dream AVR for an audiophile."

This unit in in excellent shape. I know Jared had it serviced once, but it returned with flying colors and was in daily use until late 2016 when he passed away.

I have the original box (really an elaborate shipping carton/container), remote and calibration microphone. I haven't seen the owners manual yet, but I will continue to look and that is easily downloaded from the internet. Also comes with a Hirakawa power cord.

This unit is incredibly heavy, so shipping will be calculated based on the buyer's location.

I rated it 8/10 very good just to be conservative, but I believe this unit has no issues whatsoever, cosmetic or otherwise.

The MHT200 provides superior eight channel reproduction, Dolby Digital, DTS and discrete Back Surround Decoding combined with complete audio and video switching.

The MHT200 Automatically Switches Operating Modes according to the input signal. Zone A will memorize the Preferred Mode settings last used for each input. When switching from one input to another, the selected mode for each will be active.

The 7 Analog A/V and 6 Digital Audio Inputs can be reassigned for any desired signal sources. All six digital inputs can be assigned to any A/V signal source. Separate Record  and Listen Circuits allow recording of one program source while listening to another.

The MHT200 includes thirty-three LEDs on the Front Panel. These LEDs indicate the Operating/Decoding Modes, Power Guard Activation, Surround Modes, Zone Selection, Late Night Dynamic Processing and the Trim Adjustments.

A Precision Tracking Volume Control adjusts all eight channels with tracking accuracy better than 0.5dB. Digital Sound Processing allows a wide range of tone shaping with the Bass and Treble Controls with no loss in traditional McIntosh sonic excellence.

The MHT200 has the built-in ability to control a separate remote Audio/Video Zone with its own speakers. Zone B program selection is independent of the Zone A selected program.

All channels include the patented McIntosh Power Guard circuit that prevents the amplifier from being over driven into clipping, with its harsh distorted sound that can also damage your valuable Loudspeakers.

McIntosh Sentry Monitor power output stage protection circuits ensure the MHT200 will have a long and trouble free operating life. Built-in Thermal Protection Circuits guard against overheating.
