I am listing a audio rack 3 shelf, shelfs are made out of maple, legs are made out of walnut. These stands are made 1 at a time in my small shop here in the mountains of Pickens county South Carolina, just up the road from AudioGoN in Greenville S.C., Due to shop space i have no room to store extra inventory, so i must make 1 at a time. average turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks, shipped, these stands are not stained, i only use lacquer, and shellac, which provide a near perfect finish, then hand rubbed with Bri wax to give it a nice natural gloss, that lets the wood shine through, that you can feel. I will never use polyurethane, it gives a plastic cover which hides the natural beauty of the wood. The Wood, I do not use little slivers glued together like a cutting board, i do not care for that look, although most high end racks use this method i do not, at most there is 2 or 3 boards carefully cut and glued, i try to grain match as best as possible, the end result is a much nicer rack to compliment your components. The Sound, i am 60 years old, have been an audiophile since i was 14, i have learned that the best vibration killer is solid wood, i have heard it and seen it all. If your rack has metal in it, that is your vibration weak point, i have had racks that were even filled with sand it was heavy, but still had that vibe. ( i am currently working on wood feet for components ) the only draw back with my racks are they are not adjustable, for sound deading propuses. i make them ridged and strong, no threaded rod will ever be used. no metal spikes to mark up your floors, the sound improvement is dynamic, bass is lower and mids and highs are crisper and cleaner, if you are a bass fan you can push the bass a lot farther with this stand. Please look at the pictures as these are what you will receive, only difference is the wood, which i hand pick each piece. Shipping this stand is heavy i estimate over 200Lbs, thats a lot of wood, i have to buy or make a custom sized pallet then build protective ends, and shinkwrap the hole thing, it would have to sent freight only, and i would highly recommend a lift gate, unless you have a couple strong friends, my best guess would be $300. plus depending, on where you live. Again i only make 1 at a time, so please contact me through this site and ill let you know how and if I'm backed up. As you can see in the pictures i also build turntables, the Thornes in the pictures is my latest, if you would like something truly different, get in touch with me, that table weighs in at 78lbs. Size of the rack 52 1/2 inch long, 21 inchs wide( Shelf) 371/2 inch high, about 141/2 inches between shelves. enough room for even the largest of amps. Also i just added some prototype amp stands to my listing, these are just rough prototypes and will be finished the same as the stand. after adding the amp stands to my system it made a huge difference in the sound, bass was deeper, warmer and more musical, i am thinking the finished amp stands will be around $275.00 plus shipping, these are not quite reddy to go yet will start a new listing when finished. just want to see what people think, please let me know, thanks Mike

Questions for the seller
Can you do custom sizes? Lead time? Thanks.
Hey Bob thanks for the interest in my racks, Yes i can do just about anything you need. Just let me know what you are looking for and ill send you a quote. Please keep in mind i only use the thickness of the wood you see in the pictures, anything less and sound quality will suffer. I am currently selling this on eBay, if you look there and see the price difference it is because eBay fees are a lot higher. Please check my feedback as a seller on eBay. I prefer AudioGon but eBay is fine. So right now I'm working a quote for a customer on eBay, and i have a job that i should be finished up in 2 to 3 days. turnaround now would be around 2 weeks, if the other customer gets in first probably 3weeks, depending. on what you need. My goal is to only do audio video stands, and being a audiophile all my life I know how much the hobby costs, so i want to be able to offer the best quality stand at the best price i can i still make a profit. Please look at the prices of these so called high end stands, its insane period. And as far as quality please see pictures of my turntable, this table has a full suspension, and to get it right was a hand full. I look forward to hearing from you, Thanks Again Mike
Can you make the distance between the lowest shelf and the middle shelf higher? I have a pair of tube amps that emit a lot of heat. thanks
Hey Albi, yes i can do just about what ever you would like, just let me know what your thinking about, unless your making the stand taller or longer the price will be the same. I just got back from woodcrafters here in greenville sc, and just bought the prettiest piece of black walnut i have ever seen, so the next stand i build will get this walnut. O.K. i am currently working on some amp stands, these are just prototypes, please look at the pictures on the listing i just added them to my add, again these are unfinished rough prototypes and will be finished the same as the stand when done. Now after adding these to my system it made a substantial difference in the sound, very much more warm and musical. its really hard to believe the difference it does make. and i can only imagine what it could do for tube amps. at this time i thinking about $275.00 plus shipping, again look at all the stands priced out over a thousand $$$, its crazy what places are charging for pieces of steel, even for amp stands. the finished stand will be between 4 and 5 inches high, let me know what you think, your opinion is very valuable to me, look forward to hearing back from you soon, Mike
