I am listing a audio rack 3 shelf, shelfs are made out of maple, legs are made out of walnut. These stands are made 1 at a time in my small shop here in the mountains of Pickens county South Carolina, just up the road from AudioGoN in Greenville S.C., Due to shop space i have no room to store extra inventory, so i must make 1 at a time. average turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks, shipped, these stands are not stained, i only use lacquer, and shellac, which provide a near perfect finish, then hand rubbed with Bri wax to give it a nice natural gloss, that lets the wood shine through, that you can feel. I will never use polyurethane, it gives a plastic cover which hides the natural beauty of the wood. The Wood, I do not use little slivers glued together like a cutting board, i do not care for that look, although most high end racks use this method i do not, at most there is 2 or 3 boards carefully cut and glued, i try to grain match as best as possible, the end result is a much nicer rack to compliment your components. The Sound, i am 60 years old, have been an audiophile since i was 14, i have learned that the best vibration killer is solid wood, i have heard it and seen it all. If your rack has metal in it, that is your vibration weak point, wood makes no sound,i have had racks that were even filled with sand it was heavy, but still had that vibe. ( i am currently working on wood feet for components please see pictures these are made out of maple ) the only draw back with my racks are they are not adjustable, for sound deading propuses. i make them ridged and strong, no threaded rod will ever be used. no metal spikes to mark up your floors. at the bottom of the legs on the rack are beveled just like the top for minimum ground contact. there is no need for metal spikes at all, wood is has much more isolation properties then metal, the sound improvement is dynamic, bass is lower and mids and highs are crisper and cleaner, if you are a bass fan you can push the bass a lot farther with this stand. Please look at the pictures as these are what you will receive, only difference is the wood, which i hand pick each piece. Shipping this stand is heavy i estimate over 200Lbs, thats a lot of wood, i have to buy or make a custom sized pallet then build protective ends, and shinkwrap the hole thing, it would have to sent freight only, and i would highly recommend a lift gate, unless you have a couple strong friends, my best guess would be $300.00  to $400. plus depending, on where you live. Again i only make 1 at a time, so please contact me through this site and ill let you know how and if I'm backed up. As you can see in the pictures i also build turntables, the Thornes in the pictures is my latest, if you would like something truly different, get in touch with me, that table weighs in at 78lbs.also I'm currently making maple feet to replace the brass ones on the table, Size of the rack 52 1/2 inch long(Thats from the floor to the top of the legs), 21 inchs wide( Shelf) 371/2 inch high, about 14 1/2 inches between shelves. please understand that these shelfs are hand made and sometimes the final demisons be be off a slight bit, i have to work around imperfections in the wood. the stands have enough room even for the largest of amps. The items on the rack are for show purposes only and are not for sale. The extra stand and amp stands in the pictures are sold just finished the build and they are on their way to Florida. Amp stands please check them out, i have listed them on audioGon also i can make them in maple or walnut, the feet should always be maple as that is the best for isolation. if you have any questions or need a quote on a different size do not hesitate to message me through AudioGon. And if you choose to purchase a stand from me i will photograph the entire build from picking out the wood to the finished product that you see here. Thanks for looking at my post, what you see is what you will get. Thank you , Mike       Please note the grain on the top shelf of the stand with no components, although i do everything in my power to pick the best looking pieces, it don't always come out like that. thats tiger maple and very rare in such thick wood. just wanted to clarify.
