Here is an email from Immedia

Hello Mark,

This is the RPM2. It was the top model.

It is most likely the bearing if you can tell the motor tries to spin it. Do the lights on the controller come on when its powered up? If not, check the fuse.

I can see the counterweight needs attention with some new parts.

To ship the table you need to turn in the transit screws. They are in 2 holes on the bottom of the table on each side of the black bolt head in the bearing mount center. They take an Allen wrench. These will raise the platter slightly and prevent it from turning. If they are not turned in the sapphire will usually get broken in shipping.

The repair of the table will be around $500 (includes new belt) minus parts if needed. The arm needs some work so assume it may add up to $200 depending on the parts needed. I can give a quote after assessing.

Best regards,

Allen

I am open to a creative solution that protects both of us.

Here are my thoughts. We agree upon a value if it had no problems. Probably somewhere between $2995 and $3995.

We assume that there are $700 in repair costs that we deduct from that value.

If you would like this turntable, you make an offer that hopefully gets you the turntable at a good price.

You pay to ship the turntable to Immedia - probably $140 by FedEx Ground

If the repair costs exceed $700 then I pay you back the added costs.

I thought this may be a way to make this work for both of us. If you are interested in this arrangement, let me know.

Mark

You are buying this as is.  The motor works but the turntable does not turn.  RPM told me it is probably the bearing that they can easily replace. I did not want to pay the back and forth shipping costs for this beast just to list it at a higher price.    I bought this  20 years ago as part of my mid-life crisis stereo system.  I verfied with Immedia that this is an RPM 2.   It comes with an RPM tonearm.  It does not come with a cartridge.

The arm is a unipivot design and the cup its sitting is filled with oil for dampening.

The power and speed control are switched at the motor drive which is a separate unit that has a removable power cord.
