Linn Klimax Kontrol

This is Linn's top-of-the-line analog preamp, machined from a 20-pound billet of aluminum, similar to their legendary CD-12, Solo and Twin power amps and the Klimax DS. It's nice to look at but great to listen to. It has four sets of inputs (one is balanced XLR) and two sets of outputs (again, one is balanced XLR, ideal for long cable runs). This unit was purchased new and upgraded with both the Linn Dynamik power supply and second generation sound board. Total list price was $14,651 (upgrades alone were $4,756). The unit is very clean as the photos show, and from a smoke-free environment. There is one tiny blemish on the top right edge of the display window, only visible when looking closeup. 
The KK is a pleasure to use. It is easily programmable (using the included remote) so that each of the four inputs can be shown on the front LED display. Another great feature is that any of the inputs can be set to Unity Gain, basically a straight pass-through signal that bypasses the KK's volume control. This is fantastic if you want to use the KK (as I did) in a mixed two-channel and surround system. The front L/R outputs of your surround preamp/processor go to one of the KK inputs set to Unity Gain, so the surround preamp controls the volume of your main speakers.
Included are all original packaging, remote, power cord and owners manual. Also, as you can see in the last two photos, I have the original KK sound board and power supply. You'll probably never need them, but it's always nice to have a backup.
Linn's quest for the best sound quality in hifi began many years ago with their first product, the LP12 turntable, which is still made today. The Klimax Kontrol was another remarkable achievement. Feel free to write with questions.
