This is a  series "A" upgrade to used/rebuilt MF2500 by Conrad Johnson. Who better to rebuild it than the guys who hand built them when they were new, and the guys who have continued to fix, modify older equipment while working on whatever future equipment is to come but he knowledgeable people at CJ.  So, it is not a Frankenstein and not some 3rd party. It is a  Conrad Johnson MF2500A,  rebuilt by CJ with the knowledge of what works best, and its not your fathers MF2500A. A quote from the CJ Tech: "Its now 90% Premier 350"

New: Main Caps, Bridge Rectifier w/ discrete slow diodes, different resistors for power caps to drain them down over time and give it even more life.  Board was completely gone over, anything needing replaced was, and room on board for new Van Den Hul Output Wires, New power switch capacitor, Removed unnecessary output filters. New face plate, so cosmetically it looks amazing  Tested and burned in over a week at CJ. Factory New MF2500 Box
Buyer wil pay the 2.9% fee from Pay Pal and it will be added to final bill.

Note About Me: I am not a shop and do this for the love of CJ and the fun of seeing some of the very best CJ SS and Tube equipment come back to new life or rescued from something less than what it was built for. CJ is a special breed of equipment, not everything is Gold, but much of it is. While I can still use the CJ factory to support these upgrades the carry clout and most of the techs working on equipment have been around a very long time so they know their stuff. Why would you not want the very guys that live and breathe it every day, in and out to do your work. Sure it is expensive but its essentially a new amp although I can not publish that; this amp is USED and Not New. Look at the pic of the work that was done as well as my description. Face plate is New Old Stock from CJ's Stock. The top black plate has 2 scratches on it that are prominent, see the pics.

How does it sound: UPDATE 3-10-18 I put it on line with my ET-7, Sound is superb and again sweet mid range, very tight bass/low and impressive highs. The combo is incredible.  Originally: Since the amp came back it has had about 20 hours of listening. It sounds very pleasing. I was immediately impressed and continue to be very happy with what I am hearing. I own a Premier 350 as well and this amp is going to give it a run for the  money. The highs are very well defined, the mid is big and sweet at times, and the low is very present and controlled. Is it as well defined as the P350? I'll have to wait and see. I have every confidence in this amp. It is extremely powerful and at times feels more powerful than the P350.

The MF2250 and the MF2500 offered audiophiles a choice of power level in stereo amplifiers while the MF5600 was a five-channel amplifier.

The overall circuits in these amplifiers used a combination of FETs, and bi-polar transistors. FETs were chosen for the gain stage because like tubes and unlike bi-polars, they produce almost no strident odd-order harmonics. Bi-polar devices were specified for the output stages of these amplifiers for their low output impedance, resulting in improved bass response.
