Audio Research VS-55 w/ new 6550 tubes and used KT120s

Sale: My Audio Research VS55 with new 6550 tubes and lightly used KT120s.  (approved
by Audio Research to take 6550s or KT-120s for a bit more power and slightly
different sound)  ARC equipment, which arguable has always been some of the  best, has increased in price dramatically
with their least expensive amp now being $8900. This unit is 50 wpc continuous from 20 to 20 and more like 60 wpc with the KT-120s. 

As far as I know there are no marks on it, but there may be something
minor I missed. It has never failed or needed repair. It has at least
one major review that came out when it was new stating it was going to
be a classic. 

It cost $2995 when new. (Look up on Audiogon shows this as $2450 new in 2001 but it changed to $2995 at the end of 2005.  This unit is from a later year, as I remember, and was $2995) The current 6550 set of tubes has no more then 10
hours on them and the amp itself, about 1000 to 1500 max, though probably no more then 1000.   I just have
not been able to listen as often as I want, sometimes no more then a
single album in 2 or 3 months.

Call it a 8/10 or 9/10. It is almost 10 years old so maybe 8/10
despite it's excellent condition in all respects including sound quality.   Maybe think, 8.5 .  It is as quiet as I have heard from
any tube amp old or new.

I had taken down the ad because I was really undecided about selling this amp, however I relisted it because it actually made no sense to keep it just for the possibility of future use.  Those who were interested before, please resubmit your offer if you want it considered.

of cleared funds which is almost immediate with Paypal if you have gone
through the entire verification process. Ground shipping in the
continental US with insurance at about $75 is covered by me So please take that into consideration.

NOTE: Someone commented to me that the KT-120s were hard on the transformers.  Per Audio Research there is no problem using KT-120s with this amp and some of the people that work there, actually do use that combination.  Believe Audio Research, no the Internet.
