SPL Phonitor w/ Highest Level Mods from Stefan Audio Art w/ Bonus Op-Amps!

This is the best sold state headphone amp I have ever heard. I understand it's a little out-dated these days but this is a rare opportunity to own a great unit modified by the guy that makes some of the best headphones cables of all time -- and is no longer doing these SPL mods. Original SPL Phonitor 2730 sent to James at Stefan Audio Art in 2013 for his highest level of modification:

-- All the large caps were replaced with Nichicon Fine Gold - determined to be the best sounding in this amp after extensive research. 
-- Volume pot has been replaced with the inimitable DACT2.
-- Transformer has been anchored and shielded.
-- Power switch and extraneous components have been stripped away for pure AC input.
-- All extraneous handles, footers and parts were removed.
-- And finally the op-amps were replaced with Burson Supremes. 

For the ultimate in sound, I would recommend following James' suggestions to place the unit on a Mapleshade platform with Mapleshade footers and also to play it with its top off - replacing it instead with another Mapleshade platform.

As an ADDED BONUS, the amp will come not only with the original Burson Supreme op-amps but also with a pair of DEXA discrete op-amps AND a pair of Sparko op-amps for your op-amp rolling pleasure. All mounted on 8pin adapters to swap in and out. The three sets have distinct personalities and allow you to roll sound as you would with tubes.
This amp has been my go-to SS amp for 5 years - every minute of that enchanting and powerful. Only selling because I am reducing everything by drastic amounts in order to pay for a home remodel. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Bottom of unit does show some scuffing where I mounted it on Mapleshade brass footers. Amp comes with everything you see here, including a bag of all the old parts should you want them for whatever reason.
