Questions for the seller
I have been trying to decide wether to get Tung-sol’s or Millard’s, what do u think the difference is in the sound? Thanks Mike
Mike, there's a sale pending on the Tung Sols. To answer your question, the TS are very dynamic with extended highs and great bass. Detailed and forward, yet still sound like tubes. Mullard reissue are similar to original Mullard; Laid-back with a classic tube sound. Very musical, easy on the ears with digital. Only drawback I think is the bass is rather soft. Jim
Jim, Thanks for the response. Upscale just sold me some kt66 to replace my el-34 for my prima Luna amp and I’m not loving them. More at each end of the frequency range, but at the expense of the mid-range. I want to go back just not sure which ones to get. Have you ever heard kt-77?
Mike, I now have the GL KT-77's and they are fantastic. Dynamic, good extension top and bottom with smooth highs. Good Sd Stage and depth. Midrange is clear and smooth, also revealing but in a realistic way. The Mullards mids are sweet and silky, the 77's are more lively. Love everything about these tubes. I think it helps that I'm using NOS Mullard and Brimar as input tubes. Best, Jim
