Channel Islands Audio VPP-1 with VAC-1 power supply and upgrades excellent

This
listing is for a Channel Island Audio CI Audio VPP.1 Phono stage with optional upgrade
VAC.1 power supply in excellent condition. This is my first high end audio
phono stage which I bought along with Music Hall MMF9 turntable and it was an
eye opening experience. Later I borrowed a Lyra cartridge from a friend who is
in very advanced Analog equipment and incidentally is an electronic components
engineer. Lyra sounded better than stock crtridge and I got the upgrade bug and
purchased a Sutherland phono stage which sounded slightly better. After making
small modifications to the VPP.1 (with my friend’s help) to TI’s latest and
greatest op amp and 10 larger low ESR capacitors and VAC.1 power supply we were
able to lower the temperature noise floor (Shhhhh background noise) to lower
than and sounded better with blacker background than Sutherland. Optional power
supply does make a difference in bass extension and returned 3 weeks old Sutherland
and Kept VPP.1. In the picture you will see excellent stock diodes and 1% audio resistors
and excellent capacitors that are all stock. Only thing modified are large
capacitors and op amp. Now after 6 years I purchased a used VPI TNT, Ortofon
Windfeld cartridge and Whest PS.40RDT which is the best setup I can do in my financial
means. VPP.1 could not support 0.2mV low output MC and has been in the box for
a few years and does not get any use and needs a good home. It comes with
everything original from factory. It has subsonic filter on/off, 40db, 47K ohm,
0pf capacitance for MM and 50db, 100 ohm, 100pf capacitance for MC dip switches
in the back and is suitable for 0.5mV and higher output cartridges. I retested
it before this listing and still sounds smooth, open and full of detail.
