Sony stuffed the UDA-1 with a large-bandwidth, left-right separated 23Wpc Class AB analog amp that utilizes an emitter balance transistor (EBT). The twin-mono format helps provide excellent transient response, clear tonalities, sonic faithfulness, and rich musicality. A large, acoustically tuned power-source block capacitor features superior case form, sleeve material, and electrode foil magnification. Plus, the UDA-1's one-point ground structure further contributes to the overall performance by eliminating the fluctuation of the left and right channels, resulting in enhanced dynamics.

Superb USB DAC Abetted by Analog FIR Filters and DSEE
In addition to its excellent USB DAC, the UDA-1 touts four analog FIR filters per channel. Ideal for D/A conversation of DSD signals, they eliminate differences in phase response, enhance transparency, and reduce fatigue. And the Sony Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) presents music naturally and spatially by restoring the high-frequency range and tail shape of the waveform that often disappears during the compression process.
