Folks, there’s lots great stuff here, including several TAS Superdisc Titles (one of them HIGHLY Desirable). Everything is of Audiophile Quality Sound, and these are, with several exceptions, in Near Mint condition! Just look how nice the spines are! These handsome copies will look good on your record shelf, too. There are 14 titles and 19 LPs.

Some of the highlights:

—Beethoven “Violin Concerto”, w/Joseph Szigeti on Violin, and Antal Dorati with the London Symphony Orchestra, in one of the truly great and stunning recordings of the golden era of Analogue. Recorded by Mercury in the UK, they don’t come much better than this. RFR1/4 pressing, the jacket is clean and crisp and in like-new condition. A rare and very desirable title! Mercury SR 90358.

—Bizet “Carmen”, w/Leonard Bernstein and the Metropolitan Opera Group; TAS Superdisc Title, and comes in a lovely package with a booklet about as thick as a telephone directory. 3 LP Box Set.

—Britten “Violin Concerto”; Walton “Violin Concerto”, w/Ida Haendel on Violin, and Paavo Bergulund with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. My all-time favorite readings of these amazing works; a UK EMI release with Stunning Sound, amongst the very finest. Haendel recordings are now quite collectable.

— “The Fantasy Film World of Bernard Herrmann”. TAS Superdisc Title, this Stunning Phase 4 recording will blow the roof off your house (fair warning)!

—Beethoven “Complete Violin and Piano Sonatas”, w/Zino Francescatti on Violin and Robert Casadesus on Piano. Regarded as one of the “yardstick” performances by which all others are measured, this is the original 1960’s Columbia “2 Eyes” pressing, which actually has decent sound. 4 LP Box Set.

—Holst “The Planets”, w/Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic. This is still my all-time favorite, desert island version of this magnificent work. Recorded in the early 1960’s by Decca, the sound is Stunning, managing to be dynamic, lushly ambient and yet detailed. A clean, crisp copy!

And the stuff I didn’t write about is just as wonderful; these are solid titles with world-class sound covering a variety of styles and periods; everything here received 3 stars in The Penguin Stereo Record Guide, along with TAS Superdisc Status.
