Which Sony Model is I'm guessing VPL-VW385ES?
JVC eShift5 4K projectors have high native contrast the Sony projector has native 4K panels I have sold tens of thousands of pj's over 30+ year period from $2500 to $150,00 The JVC e-shift and more importantly DLA-RS640 is better & less expensive & BTW,....Sony rocks just JVC a tad bit brighter colors/darker blacks and less money(right now)
Forget consumers bragging this & that about either "Brand" you definitely need to know just how similar the 640/385 are when calibrated......Get the right screen correct surface gain & size for your ROOM not your ego and you are off to a great start!
