I purchased this player from a local audiophile last year. He had it upgraded from a No.39 to No.390s. He did not upgrade the faceplate which would have been another $500. At time of my purchase I opened the case and can verify that it is all 390s part inside. I bought this to replace my No.39 at the time and since then have sold the No.39. However, I was able to compare the two units briefly and the improvement over the No.39 is apparent immediately.
The unit is in excellent physical condition with its original remote and box/packing materials. I even have the transport hold down screw for secure shipping of the unit.
Two notes:
1) Remote is sending erroneous signals so therefore remote is rated as non functional. I heard there is a way to recalibrate it but since I use it as a DAC and because I usually play CD's from start to finish I never found the lack of a remote an issue so I never had it fixed. It was working fine up until about 8 months ago.
2) When the CD player is cold you might need to press the Open/Close button 2, maybe 3 times to open the drawer. When the unit is fully warmed up this became much less of an issue. This only happens once in a while and only when unit is cold. Rarely will it not function properly when unit is warmed up or left in Stand by mode. Otherwise tray open and close smoothly and laser reads disc super fast, usually within a second.  The tray has always been like this according to the original owner and I have never felt it to be a problem nor do I feel that it is a problem that might become worse. It is most likely a software glitch that goes away when the internal components warm up a bit. If you leave the CD player on continuously as some suggests then it is not a problem.  This is probably the nicest CD tray I have ever seen/used.
I almost always leave it in Standby when not in use.
Cosmetics on both player, remote and box is all excellent.
On the underside of the unit is the tag “390s Factory Authorized upgrade”.

No Paypal fees! Flat rate shipping to Lower USA for $50. Local pick up is best and free. No international shipping.

Questions for the seller
If this unit has been upgraded to a 390S, and there is a factory tag stating this can you post a picture of it or post a picture of the inside showing the upgraded components?
There is a tag on the bottom that says “factory authorized 390s upgrade” I have opened it before to verify and it is all 390s components. If not I will refund your money. Also the tray works perfectly so the issue that I mentioned is almost non existent. It shouldn’t even be mentioned but I wanted to disclose everything. The only thing is the remote that is not working right. Thanks.
