The Shunyata Typhon has been called Caelin Gabriel's greatest achievement. Unlike the myriad of cables and AC conditioners that he has developed, the Typhon is unique. It is a noise reduction device that runs in parallel to your gear and confers several unique benefits. As stated in the TAS review in June 2013:
"Does the Typhon significantly reduce signal-obscuring noise? Yes, and I would add the Typhon’s most prominent sonic effect on the connected system is that it enhances the system’s ability to portray spatial cues. The Typhon does not alter tonal balance or macro-dynamic behavior, so listening for typical changes after you insert a new device is not a standard exercise with the Typhon.

What the Typhon does do is allow your system to better reproduce depth of both individual images and of the overall soundstage. Spatial cues around individual images are more clearly defined, with more body and solidity. As a result of clearing up the surrounding, obscuring, gray electronic “fog,” images stand out in greater relief within their ambient surroundings. The Typhon also expands soundstage width and height, though not to an appreciable degree in my setup."

This accurately conveys what the Typhon offers. My unit is in silver and is absolutely perfect. Rated 8 for age only (4 years old). No marks, scrathes etc. Its hard to get to so I will take pictures when I can.

If you have a good system, the addition of a Typhon will make it significantly better. There are countless reviews of the Typhon out there. I am unaware of any that do not sing its praises.

The umbilical cable is typically not included with the Typhon. However I have been through several cables, including those in the Shunyata line (Python and Anaconda Zitron) and did not prefer them  as they are "filtered" cables with networks and I found that I did not care for their sound. I therefore used a well made non-filtered cable found here, however mine has the gold Furutech connector set since I really dislike rhodium connectors.  https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis8i413-audio-art-cable-power1-se-store-wide-sale-final-day-ends-today-april-24-ac-cables
The price therefore includes the Audio Arts I SE power cable (20 amp) with the Furutech gold F28 connectors
