Marantz 6300

This Custom Burl turntable is based on a Marantz 6300, and has had some pretty extensive upgrades. The tonearm wire has been upgraded to Cardas Litz high conductivity long grain OFC wire. Has a newish (less than 20 hours) Shure M97xE Audiophile MC Phono Cartridge. The old dangerous non-polarized power cord has been replaced with a safe IEC C14 AC receptacle. The old lousy RCA interconnects have been replaced with beautiful CMC 805-2.5AG silver plated HIFI audio terminals. Along side of the RCA terminals is a fully integrated (no ground loops) Cardas non-magnetic brass billet, rhodium over silver-plated grounding post. And on top of all that, I added a fuse. She is all setup and ready to enjoy! These modifications are an upgrade package I offer for folks that wish to take their 6300 to the next level. The other items are examples of my custom work and are not included with this auction.
Shipping: I will remove the platter and wrap it separately. I will disassemble the counter weight and head-shell from the tone arm and secure those separately. Believe me, I will spare no effort to ensure as safe a travel as possible. The shipping dimensions and weight are based on the original packaging and will be slightly different from actual. Buyer pays actual shipping & insurance costs. If you wish for double boxing, I can do that, at buyers expense. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding and examine the pictures carefully so you understand and best as possible, what it is your are bidding on and it's condition. Due to the nature of vintage electronics being fragile (especially vintage turntables), the turntable will be ensured at the buyers expense and I will not accept any return. Buyer pays actual shipping, insurance and handling, no exceptions. The unit is sold as is. No warranty implied or given. Local pickup is ok.
Just a few words about this particular creation. This was a labor of love. We've put countless hours into making this and it plays beautifully! I was pleasantly surprised when I set it up for the very first time. I have to admit though, it was a bit of a struggle to set it up. Not uncommon for many turntables, burl or not. Moreover whomever purchases it will likely have to do some of that setup again. However, most of the "heavy lifting" setup as been done and that should hold through shipping. Obviously the head-shell tracking weight will have to be set again. Typical of any turntable travelling. This is a bit of a "flagship" piece for us at Machias Audio Werks. We plan to continue to use images of this particular build in out future advertising, after it has sold. Our hope here at MAW is that as our company grows, so will the value on this particular piece. There is certainly no guarantee of such appreciation. We believe that as our products and the reputation of exquisite workmanship grows among the HiFi audio community, so will the value of our products.
