McIntosh MC-502 Power amplifier

Mcintosh MC-502 Power amplifier. Conservatively rated McIntosh power 75 watts per channel, RMS sine wave power 0.02% THD 20 to 20KHz. Can be bridged into mono power. It has three safety protection circuits... Sentry Monitor, Power Guard and speaker protection. The amp measures 14 3/4 by 2 3/8 by 14 3/4 inches deep. Weight: 27 pounds. This amp is mounted in the McIntosh walnut cabinet which increases the dimensions to 16 3/4 in wide by 16 in deep including knobs and 5 inch tall.        This amp was completely checked out by our audio technician. But, this man is no ordinary hifi repair man. His father was Dean of Electrical Engineering at Tulane University and he grew up living, breathing and inventing electronics.        I have critically listened to this amp on Reference speakers and compared with other high quality amps. I listened for hours and days on all types of music and it sings.        I am selling this amp for the original owner. I have been in the stereo business for 30 plus years and know how to box things safely.      I listed this as a 7, but really the walnut cabinets are in really good condition as you can see in the photographs. The level controls are silent, the switches work, the Power Guard lights up when you turn it way up. It sounds wonderful. It plays full size floor standing speakers very very loud.      More important is the clarity and detail this amp reproduces despite its age. The bass authority and transient clarity of the bass is outstanding.
