You know a tube amp can easily beat a solid state amp. This is even more so with the McIntosh MC2102.

Read the great review in Stereophile, and if you can find it, read Ken Kessler's great review from Hi-fi News and reviews. The MC2102 remains a legendary product.

Now watch this exact MC2102 in action (my youtube username is Linn Specialist and I have more than 1.5 millions views of my hi-fi videos):

I believe my humble and old Naim CDX player cannot do the McIntosh MC2102 justice.

At $4500 the MC2102 is a great value for its exceptional sound quality.

Yes, this is my beloved McIntosh MC2102. This 100 watts tube amplifier drives my Tannoy Canterbury SE with ease, finesse, grace and power. With my Tannoy speakers I hardly need 10 watts to drive them to extremely loud level (as indicated by the two meters in the front panel)--this is the reason for the sale as I simply don't need that much power. Maybe your speakers need more power and you appreciate the beauty of sound that the MC2102 can bring.

Original McIntosh KT88 output tubes and McIntosh 12AX7 and 12AT7 tubes because this is a lightly used unit. If you use Gold Lion KT88 and Telefunken 12AX7 and 12AT7 tubes, you will hear a quantum jump in sound quality: even smoother and much more refined analysis and musical sound.

Overall the McIntosh shows light signs of use. The face plate is clean with no marks or scratches. The left and right sides are clean. Transformers are clean except for one back side when sometimes the speaker spades might have touched it (very light scratches).

Some say the McIntosh MC275 sounds better. This is pure BS. Why would McIntosh shoot itself in the foot by designing a cheaper product (MC275) to beat the more expensive MC2102? This is total non-sense. A couple of years ago I asked a dealer in the next city for a home demo of the MC275 V. I gave the dealer my credit card number, brought it home, listened for 20 minutes and returned it immediately!!!

Conservatively rated 8/10. The MC2102 is compact and an absolutely beauty. The blue lights have been changed to LED lights by the dealer recently, guaranteeing a life-long usage.

Well, I have to say that it's sound is absolutely easy to love. For me, there is nothing to dislike.

Lowballers will be quietly ignored.
