THORENS TD 166 MK II IN BOLD RESTORATION - UPGRADED !

Total transformation to Appearance and Performance for this rare turntable from the legendary Thorens .
* All the parts have been cleaned , re-lubricated including suspension springs ,spindle bearing, sub platter , motor and the tonearm and then tested for their functioning up to the specs.
*The plinth has been upgraded for improved solidity and rigidity with a one inch thick bottom base ,which has been painted in black and the entire plinth lacquered several coats to get that rich and shiny look as protective too.
* The tonearm is the upgraded TP 16 MK II from the bigger brother TD126 which offers the ability and easiness of the interchangeable arm wands for easy swap to other cartridge.
*The main platter has been polished multiple stages by hand.

* An improved cork mat took place on top of the platter to enhance further the performance, and to ensure better isolation from the moving parts
.
*Wiring of the tonearm goes directly to brand new VAMPIRE RCA jacks installed on the rear of the plinth.
* Outboard Power supply and low voltage motor offers quieter and improved black background.

* Brand new high quality belt has been installed ,for proper grip and correct speed.

*The turntable will come fitted with a musical and detailed sounding cartridge, from SHURE high output Moving magnet design, low surface noise and excellent tracker for pure vinyl sound highly textured, aligned with the use of protractor for maximum accuracy. Other option could be a Ortofon cartridge.
*High quality brass cones in black chrome finish installed at the bottom of plinth to enhance further the performance in terms of clarity ,imaging and size of sound stage , as to improve the isolation of turntable from the environment ,and add in the appearance as well.
* The suspension has been improved and along with the other upgrades the sounding reproduction is now more integrated provides , even cleaner more extended and articulate bass , wide open 3D images sound stage revealing lifelike mid range and clearer accurate highs.
The turntable has been meticulous well prepared , tested step by step and listened to the Reference system to get the maximum out of it .
The goal has been achieved and guarantee that this classic turntable now performs and looks at its best ever .
