FINAL PRICE CUT - TWO DAYS LEFT - AFTER THAT, IT GOES TO THE BAY

Up for sale is my Sumo Gold Class A amplifier. It puts out 125 watts into 8 ohms, 200 watts into 4 ohms, and 400 watts into 2 ohms. This was James Bongiorno's statement amplifier back in the day.

I had the amp rebuilt by Rick Cullen, formerly of Cullen Circuits, now at Wyred4Sound, in 2010 and the amplifier has performed flawlessly for eight years. Rick did a great job. I had him put on expensive WBT binding posts.

I'm only selling the amp because I upgraded to a Gryphon Colosseum, an amp that is also a Class A monster, and costs a lot more. I don't think you'll find many 125 Watt class A amps at this price.

The Gold is a true Class A amp that weighs about 80-90 pounds and puts out a lot of heat. I installed a variable resistor on the front of the amp so that the two fans could be slowed down during the winter, making it quieter. You'll need a pretty strong air conditioner to run this amp in the summer. If the amp overheats, due to the temperature of your room, it will shut off a channel until the heat drops back down. You can read about that in the manual, which can be found here:

Because the big variable resistor, the blue thing, sticks out of the bottom, I'm including a couple of blocks you can use to prop up the amp on an amp stand. I'm also going to list the amp stand at some point, or we can talk about including it in another shipment, if you want it.

Shipping via FedEx Ground or some other service that provides pickup service, I can't carry it anywhere. The amp in its box weighs 100 pounds.
