Sota Sapphire Turntable with Sumiko The Arm tonearm and Talisman S MC cartridge

For Sale is a classic, vintage, one-owner, very rare original SOTA SAPPHIRE turntable with SUMIKO THE ARM MDC-800 tonearm and TALISMAN S moving coil cartridge. This turntable has been gently and infrequently used in a smoke-free home ever since I bought it new in 1983. It still functions perfectly and, as you would expect, sounds superb. The turntable, tonearm and cartridge are all in excellent working order. Cosmetically, and particularly in view of its age, the unit is almost flawless except for some barely visible spots specifically located on a portion of the metal control panel surface (see pictures). This was caused by a former housekeeper who ignored instructions and sprayed cleaning fluid on the surface. The spots are very minor (I got over it right after I fired the housekeeper), but the buyer should be aware these very minor cosmetic imperfections are there. If a new owner is bothered by this, I suspect a replacement control panel could probably be found (there was recently one for sale on eBay). This turntable and shipping container are quite heavy (around 60 lbs). For this reason, I would prefer a local or regional buyer who would pick the unit up, but shipping is possible as long as the product will be shipped to the U.S. or Canada. Shipping will be via UPS Ground, fully insured, at the BUYER'S expense. (I will let the buyer know the actual shipping cost prior to shipping, but I would guess it would total +/-$100, depending on location shipped to).
