Metaphor 5 - Like Time Capsules - Excellent - Dynamic!

Selling a pair of gorgeous tower speakers from ~1996-1997. Metaphor Acoustic Designs Ltd, Metaphor 5 Loudspeaker System. This is a full range speaker system with the following factory specifications: Freq Response: 35-22kHz Sens.: 93dB Impedance: 4 ohm Dimensions: 39 tall x 11 wide x 15.25 deep Weight: Over 100 lb each Finish: Natural cherry over birch plywood side panels and black cloth

These speakers are a 3-way design, and the smaller sibling to the Metaphor 2 system. The driver compliment includes a 1" titanium oxide coated inverted dome tweeter, 6.5" composite cellulose midrange, and 8" composite cone woofer.

The cabinet is made from multiple thicknesses with each driver in its owner separate enclosure. The baffle is 2" thick and sidewalls are 1" or 1.5" thick depending on the application.

I have been driving these speakers with an Amherst Audio A-2000 amplifier that puts out 170watts per side and these speakers absolutely sing when they are called to do so. They can also play at low volume with excellent clarity.

The speakers come with all of the original documentation, packing crates, and internal packing materials.
I rated the speakers 9/10 because of two things: 1) The original boxes have some miles on them. 2) The original cloth is original. No holes, no rips, no issues. Just not new. Some dust, etc.

The drivers are all in excellent condition as they cannot really be accessed without taking the speakers completely apart.

These are an exceptional and rare set.
I can ship these speakers, but would recommend a service like uShip to ensure there is no damage. Traditional shipping operations will not work with these speakers. They are too large and too heavy. UPS Freight is an option, but I cannot be responsible if UPS Freight drops them off a forklift. Speakers will be insured in any event.
