"Rosy O'Grady's was a true PHENOMENON! For over 25 years it was home to the Good Time Jazz Band where you could enjoy swinging Dixieland music, singing waiters, Can-Can girls (who don't-don't), hot air balloon rides and the deadly Flaming Hurricane (which generated more business for the taxi cab trade than any single item in Orlando history).

Bill Allred and Jim Maihack held down the trombone chairs, with Ken Abreo on reeds, Don Lord on cornet, Boyd Bergeson on banjo, Randy Morris on piano, Warren Sauer on drums and Dave Gannett on tuba.

Just prior to the introduction of CD's, "Direct-to-Disk" recording represented the state-of-the-art in sound reproduction. What made it challenging was that there was no over dubbing, no second takes, no fixes. You played and recorded one entire side of the album at one sitting, while the engineer adjusted the cutting lathe, hopefully, with some semblance of artistic precision! As you could only press 30,000 copies off one master, we had to make three masters, a total of six sides performed without error (more or less) in one day - a daunting task for any group of musicians. The result is a spontaneous and dynamic performance not usually found in recording studios today. You're sure to enjoy the Rosie O'Grady's Good Time Jazz Band as it rolics through swing, two beat and powerhouse "show stoppers" on " DIXIE DIRECT". - 'Tubageear'

This is a Liimited Edition (#9,143 of 30,000), Direct- to -Disk recording from Direct Disk Records 1977.

Dave Gannett's classic rendition of "When You're Smiling" was introduced on this album, along with:

Tiger Rag
Wabash Blues
Irish Black Bottom
River Boat Shuffle
Japanese Sandman
When You're Smiling
Mississippi Mud
Emperor Norton's Hunch

The record is Exc.
The jacket is VG++.
The LP plays/sounds Mint+.

Stunning sound! Close your eyes and you're in a small club, 2 tables away from the band - it's that realistic. The detail and dynamics are incredible. Sounds as close to 'live' music as you're likely to get.
Slight surface noise between tracks only.

Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get
