Boulder 2008 Phono Stage with separate power supply

This is a 2008 balanced solid-state MC/MM phono preamplifier with three inputs, two
outputs, adjustable loading and gain. Upper chassis is the phono stage, lower chassis is
the power supply.  Each of the modules shown is a removable input card: the card is where the loading and MC/MM switch is located. Since some people have more than one cartridge or arm or turntable, it has three inputs but with additional input cards any number of loading configurations can be set for each input. This unit has extra input cards as it was used with three turntables.

Great Quotes from Michael Fremer review:

“Unfortunately, my imagination could not prepare me for what the 2008 delivered. I don't remember the first LP I played, but within a minute of listening I was no longer concerned with the sound of the music. What the 2008 delivered was the music's meaning. That's what you get for $29,000: communication—a direct connection to the intentions of the musicians. That may sound pretentious, but it's what I experienced in those first few hours of listening, with every genre of music.”

“The Boulder 2008 is, by far, the best-sounding and -performing phono preamplifier I've ever heard. It is also, by far, the most expensive. I have no complaints about the sound —it is absolutely stunning, spectacular, and, as far as I can tell, faultless in every area of performance: soundstaging, imaging, dynamics, harmonics, frequency extension, solidity, "bloom" (from transistors)—you name it. If you have a chance to hear it, don't pass it up—“
