Selling my beloved speakers, these will need a sub and they are active so you will need 2 stereo amps or 4 mono amps to drive them and an active crossover to work at it best but I also have a passive crossover that works really good and it uses good quality components. I will also include a relatively new ( only use it for 4 hours LOL) Behringer CX3400 crossover, it work OK, but if you want these speakers to really sing you need a nice DSP like a MiniDSP 4x10, a DEQX HDP-4 or a Danville Signal DSPMusic. The last 2 will give you world class sound, similar to speakers in the $20-50k range, The new Danville unit is amazing a little more complex to use than the DEQX but much powerful it can do DSP at speeds up to 384 kHz sample rate and it is expandable up to 16 channels. If you need a more turnkey DSP solution using the Danville unit look for HAL (Hollis here on Audio Circle).

Going back to the speakers each tower is about 93" tall and they are open baffle with 12 Dayton RS-180 7" woofers and 9 BG-Neo-8 PDR mid/tweeters all drivers are connected using gold plated disconnects... (This is going to take long time to describe OK I overdo everything and I invested hundreds of hours wiring these speakers. Let' start by describing how they are wired Woofers are wired 3 parallel sets of 4 woofers in series, so I built (16) 12" long jumpers to do the 4 of 3 configuration on both speakers, each jumper was done using (8) 20AWG solid silver-plated Teflon insulated wires tightly twisted then they were terminated with .205" gold-plated quick disconnects. The disconnects where crimped then soldered using Cardas solder, and if that is not enough each one of them was finished in black Tech-Flex mesh and shrinking tube with one side in red and the other in black to identify polarity.

Since I was planning to use DSP only, run all the way from the driver to the amp.... Yes, each of the three woofer groups in each tower have their wires go uninterrupted from the woofer to the amp. I took the 3 positive and the 3 negative and braid them together all 7 feet. I took the 3 positive and terminate it with a Vampire Spade crimp it solder it with Cardas solder. Each of those six cables is a 12 awg silver plated Teflon and each one is also covered in tech-flex.

The tweeters are wired the same way except I cannot do a straight run since I needed to add a safety capacitor network to protect the delicate NEO8.

As you can see is hard to find speakers with this level of detail in terms of the wiring termination.

Today just the drivers in Parts Express will cost you just over $3,000.
