For sale is the Modwright SWL 9.0 Linestage Preamplifier. I am the second owner and purchased it in 2008. In 2009, I had Dan Wright upgrade the unit with the tube-rectified power supply and upgraded caps (w/ Bybee purifiers). I also rolled the tubes and have been listening to the unit for 9 years with a pair of now-well-broken-in NOS Amperex 7119 tubes, which are included with the unit.
The preamp is in great condition and has no visible nicks or scratches. It also has the upgraded remote control (circa 2009), and I have the original box and manual. I'm selling because I'm a bit restless and looking to play around with the sound of my system, but this rock-solid preamp has served me extremely well over the last decade.
If you are just getting started in higher end audio (or simply want a now-classic tube preamp with amazing tone, clarity and neutrality), this is a fantastic place to start at a good price.
