Outstanding home version of famous 801F Studio Monitor (both "Series 80" models) used in recording studios worldwide. Aside from normal wear and tear, speakers are in perfect working order. Midrange units are "fibrecrete," an exclusive of B&W, which is a mixture of concrete and fiberglass to eliminate any extraneous vibrations.
$1,300 as an asking price is, of course, a starting point and I'm willing to accept offers for less, though I do have a bottom line.
If the purchaser lives within a 2-3 hour driving distance, I'm willing to drive to meet that person halfway to save on shipping costs.

Questions for the seller
Could you be more specific about the "normal wear and tear?" What cosmetic issues should I be aware of before considering purchase?
Actually, the only sign of "wear and tear" is three very small holes in the grille cover of one of the midrange/tweeter assemblies. All are very small, and only noticeable when looking closely at the speaker. The wood finish is virtually flawless, having been carefully maintained over the years using Liquid Gold, and then removing any excess. The wood grain is actually quite attractive. Any surface scratches are gone, and there were never any deep enough to penetrate the veneer. The grilles have routinely been vacuumed on both sides, and, aside from the small holes on one, look almost new as does the raised, cushioned top panel of the bass enclosure upon which the midrange/tweeter assemblies sit.. I've even washed out any accumulated dust from the recessed area where the binding posts are. On careful reconsideration, I'd personally rate their cosmetic condition a 9 out of 10. and their operational condition a full 10 out of 10...
That’s a “what are those little deelies on the top” wife question..
Those "deelies" are both the midrange driver, with a fiberglass cone and very heavy magnet, and a dome tweeter sitting atop a housing made of B&W's proprietary substance called, "Fibrecrete," which is made of a combination of concrete and fiberglass. The "\wife hoods," as they were jokingly called, are large boxlike covers for these units supposedly for wives who didn't like the appearance of the units. Unfortunately, as they act like a "double grille," they tend to muffle both high and mid frequencies, and were rarely - if ever - used by audiophiles (at least while their wives weren't around!!) If you haven't done so already, click onto the smaller image on my listing and you'll see what the speakers look like with the midrange and woofer grilles in place. I've already said this before, but not in a direct manner, and so you may not have received this information. Thanks for your interest.
What are the specs on them and weight. Thanks Tony.
Frequency response is +/- 3db from 34HZ to 28 KHZ. Each speaker weighs 80 pounds. Crossover points are 350HZ and 4KHZ. Midrange is exceptionally smooth and natural with tight bass and clear, smooth highs.
