DB Systems DB1B w/DB5 Tone Control and DB4 Head Amp - Offers? Trades?

A true audio classic in stunning condition! 

David Hadaway has been quietly building his DB Systems electronics since 1975. For those who know, these are high quality units with a loyal underground following, and for good reason. Their sound is exceptional and obviously way ahead of their time when first introduced. David's preamps can stack up with just about anything you want to throw at them.

I have an excellent condition, complete preamplification system including a DB1B preamp that includes an excellent phono stage, a DB5 precision tone control, a DB4 MC head amp and a DB2A power supply. All are in exceptional condition (see the pics). The system has been recently serviced, with electrolytic caps in the DB1 preamp replaced, solder joints inspected and touched up, all pots and switches cleaned and all functions bench tested. All functions work perfectly. I have run the system in a couple of different setups and it sounds amazing; dead quiet, super clean line stage, a killer phono stage with absolutely no noise, highly detailed, dynamic, extended, it hits all the marks. The DB5 Precision Tone Control adds lots of functionality with multiple curves for both bass and treble that don't smear the sound and cause weird phase distortions like some do. The included DB4 MC headamp extends the functionality by accommodating low output MC cartridges. It has adjustable gain (low, med, & hi) so that you can match it to different output MC's. I tried it in my main system with a Lyra Dorian and it just sings!

DB Systems products have changed little over the years, are fully upgradeable by Mr. Hadaway (although there's not much to do with this set up!), and are almost bullet proof. A bit utilitarian in looks but it's what's under the hood that counts. This system new would be around $2200+ and it includes all gold RCA's which are an upgrade at $6 a piece. You will be hard pressed to find a better preamp for the money, which makes the price here a steal. I will also include printouts of the manuals, but you can pull them from the DB Systems website as well. I do not wish to split these up at this time, offering only as a complete system. I will ensure bomb proof, insured packaging so that this gem makes it to you in in the condition you see it here. Feel free to ask any questions!
