I purchased this new, along with a pair of MA9S2 amps and the associated preamp. Really loved the amps, sold the preamp fairly soon and was a bit disappointed in the SACD player. I decided to send it to Jennifer (JenLabs) and somewhat over $2k later I had something amazing! She said it would compete with anything in the 20-25K price range. As it happens, she was correct. Sense being involved with Play It Again Audio, I plug every item in to confirm all is well. I've had some pretty amazing items come through. I have to say that this was very competitive with the Esoteric K-01x. The reason for the sale is simple, I've got everything on my hard drive now and it is not being used. This is just too darn good to set in the rack shelf just looking pretty.
Please note that this is now a dedicated XLR output. You can use adapters for single ended if you so choose.

| Great item. I own the same unit as well with the same mods by Jena Labs. Have used it with magico Magnepan Raidho TAD speakers driven by Constellation, Luxman, Zanden etc and this sacd player with mods is on par with my Berkeley Ref Dac Mk2. No affiliation with seller. Just a fan of the component. Thanks Darrin. Yes. I use Avantgarde Trios, David Burning custom amp - very close to my EMM Dac2 - all through a Soultion 720 Preamp. You can feel the emotion. |
| Is there any signal degradation using xlr to Rca adapter ? Is there any wiggle room on the price? When was the unit modified? The answer to these questions would help me as I am quite interested. Jennifer provided XLR to RCA adapters (not included, no idea where they are) but I never tried them but as always there would be a 6db signal loss. Using decent ones I doubt you would hear a change in quality unless it was a very long run of several meters. Modified in June, 2014. I'm the original purchaser, new in '13. |
