Thoress Phono Enhancer

Highly regarded Thoress Phono Enhancer, about 2 years old, 2nd owner, recently back from Thoress for repair and full check-up (see below).

All point to point wiring of the highest quality. Manufacturer supplied NOS tubes. Six phono inputs - MC 50, 100, 500, 1000 x2, 47k MM and three outputs. Load settings can be changed easily by soldering different resistors at the RCA jacks. Equal output across all phono inputs. Recommended minimum MC cartridge output is .35mv. Dual grounding lugs with ground lift toggle. A unique feature is the useful RIAA "tone control" knobs for bass, mids, and highs.

Overall condition is excellent. This is a painted or powder coated chassis and there are some very minor blemishes here and there, similar to looking at your car in the right light. I will rate it 8/10 to be conservative, but surely a 9/10 in almost anyone's view. I've put low hours on it (under 150) and the original owner likely put less than 100 hours on it due to having a large collection of gear. One of the absolute best single box MM/MC phono preamps there is! The previous owner (Shindo collector) thought this was better than his pricey Giscours.

I received this in partial trade for a turntable I was selling. During transit to me FedEx somehow managed to break one of the circuit rails. There was no damage at all to the exterior of the unit or anywhere else. Reinhard Thoress did the replacement/testing and all is good now. Repair invoice is available for the new owner.
