This cartridge was a package deal as part of a E.A.T turntable purchase.
The table was inadequately packed and subsequently mangled in transit. The cartridge had the cantilever snapped off. This particular Quintet Black originally had the current sapphire cantilever.
The original Quintet Blacks had the boron cantilever which is supposed to be a better application for this cartridge.
I heard and owned the original boron version when it was first released and enjoyed it immensely.
This has just been returned from SoundSmith, never opened or used.
Here's the SoundSmith evaluation:
"Eval: The Ortofon checks out OK other than the broken cantilever. The best and closest matching replacement would be our Boron cantilever with CL stylus"
