For sale: Horn Shoppe The Truth LDR-based preamp with one input, one output, and remote. Purchased in May 2014 directly from Horn Shoppe for $1225 (remote was $250 option). Custom face plate paint of dark cobalt blue. I think that they just come in black these days. There are some nicks on the edges of the face plate, this is how the unit came to me. The unit has a homemade aesthetic but it looks fine. The newer units have a nicer black case.
LDR-preamps are the best I have heard, they make most anything with a pot sound extremely colored and cloudy. Read the reviews. Within 2 years of purchasing mine, all of my hifi buddies in the area had converted to LDR-based preamps from Horn Shoppe or Turtuga and sold their much pricier units. I recently purchased a custom made preamp with the Tortuga LDR volume control and a Pass B1 buffer, hence the sale.
No manufacturer's box (original box was just whatever Horn Shoppe had on hand) and no manual (never was one). Will pack securely.
