This was never sold commercially, only given to McIntosh dealers for display.
Beautiful condition two tier shelving unit, thick acrylic shelfs, with a heavy steel base. Perfect to display your McIntosh Amp or turntable. Works great as a display in your house or in your store. Elegant and heavy duty. Considering the cost of racks nowadays, you're looking at a great deal!
The acrylic shelves looks excellent with very minimal wear. There is some light scuff wear, that is subtly noticeable when you get really close up, mainly the black metal base top. This could likely be polished out with a microfiber cloth. On the bottom of the base however, there are a few deeper scratches, which do not get seen (Please see the pictures I've provided). The McIntosh emblem on the pillar looks great. The stand includes all the parts and shelving, back panel, screws and bolts, nothing is missing. There was no manual, nor box.
Also, it includes a key locking backing panel to hide cables from visibility and I believe to place a lighting system to illuminate the shelves.
The base is square measuring 28" deep X 28" wide. The distance from the front of the base to the middle base pillar is 19" deep. It was designed for most McIntosh products and was designed to withstand the weight of their products.
The dimensions between the shelves from the base to the bottom of the first shelf is 30 inches, and from the bottom shelf top to the underside of the top shelf is 14 1/4 inches, shelves width is 24 inches, and depth is 20 1/2.

| What weight will the shelves support? Hello tobor007, these shelves are 1 inch thick solid acrylic plexi-glass and the way that it connects in the back to the back pillar, is incredibly strong. I had several different equipment of different weights, ranging from turntable to speakers, to pre-amp and amp. I've owned it for the last two years. Since I do not have the original manual, as I bought it used I'm guessing it can withstand 100-130 lbs. I hope that helps. |
