Musical Design SP-2B Platinum preamp

A fantastic and low-cost example of Bob Backert's amazing modding work.
V-Caps(TM) teflon capacitors on the output of this awesome linestage.    

This is the beautiful-sounding SP-2B with Platinum upgrade, from Musical Design -- with gain stage, power supply and output modded by Bob Backert (of Backert Labs).   

This tube linestage preamp uses two 6922 tubes, which are Amperex Bugle Boys made in Holland.  (Wow.) There is no phono stage. 

Gain stage: modified by Bob Backert for noticeably greater dynamic accuracy and clarity 

Power supply: Bob Backert utilized the best-of-the-best "Black Gate" capacitor brand  

Output:  two teflon V-Cap capacitors are included for the cleanest, most dynamic and most accurate sound possible. 

This preamplifier sounds much better than it has any right to.  It's a "wow" -- if you want to be in the world of true high-end for not much cash, this is an amazing component. Deep, rich, natural and *highly* musical.

Do not have the original box or packaging but it will be well packed.  Rated a 6 because *in the right light* you can see multiple marks -- like scratches, but they do not pierce through the paint -- on the top panel, check the photos. The front panel and the knobs are *nearly* perfect but have some small visible marks if you study them.  There is NO problem with the functioning of this preamp - it sounds perfect.     

Local pickup in Delaware or nearby is fine.  I can meet people from New York, PA or MD / Virginia along I-95. If you want it shipped, I am charging $35 for that. I am not requesting that you reimburse for the Paypal fees.
