For Sale:  Grado Statement Master cartridge in new condition.  This cartridge was never mounted and therefore has ZERO hours on it.  I bought two of these two years ago in December after Grado had switched to the new design.  I find the new design of the wood body cartridges to be profoundly ugly -- they are HUGE -- and had to search high and low to find a Statement Master in the old design.  I ended up buying the last two from an audio shop in the UK -- they may have been the the last two brand new cartridges in the entire world.  [I can provide a copy of original receipt with buyer, if desired.]  I currently have the other cartridge mounted on a Pro-Ject turntable, but I have put so few hours on it over the last two years, that at this rate I will probably be dead before I ever need to change the cartridge.  Hence, no need to hold on to this one as an eventual replacement any longer.
To be clear -- because Grado's nomenclature is confusing at best -- this is the $1,000 Master cartridge in the low output Statement version.  [The high output version is the Reference Master.]  The body is Jarrah wood, which looks a lot like mahogany in color but perhaps a bit more grainy [see last few photos of my mounted cartridge -- you don't get that one, you get the one that was never mounted].  They are quite lovely.  As with many cartridges, and I suspect especially ones in a wood body, the cartridge assembly is a bit off-center in the wood housing, and may require a bit more mounting adjustment than with some other cartridges.  [You might be able to discern this in the fourth photo.  Sorry I can't do any better with close-ups than that.]  Be assured that the cantilever and stylus are in perfect alignment with the actual cartridge assembly (though not with the outer wooden casing).  I've checked with a small microscope, in fact.  Obviously, this makes no difference to the sound of the cartridge.  [The one I have mounted is the same and sounds absolutely magnificent.]
Included are the mounting screws, stylus cover, wood box, outer box, and slip-of-paper owner's manual, all as new.  Insured shipping is included with asking price in the continental U.S.  If you have any questions, please let me know.
