Offering (1 pr) 14' Shun Mook Vintage WE cables. These are Store Demos used at The Audio Gallery in Oregon Shun Mook Vintgae Wire Cables in AS-NEW condition with Warranty.  

Shun Mook Vintgae Wire Cables are all made from N.O.S. old Western Electric cloth insulated wires. As we know, modern plastic and synthetic material used to insulated copper wire deteriorates the sound quality.

Yes, modern wires are designed to with stand the heat and stress generated in the copper. This makes the power system safer, but sound wise, it's not good.

Since the electrical demand of high fidelity cable is very mild, we can go back to vintage wires and build various cabling for our needs.

Our WE wire cables use a very critical fixed length. We found out that the length of any cable is most essential. A few microns of change can result in big differences.

So each cable is micro tuned by ear-listening. The special lengths we use are:

Interconnect – 7 feet 

A.C. Mains Cable – 14 feet or  7 feet 

Speaker Cables – 14 feet 

Furthermore, all our cables carry an additional (non-connected) tuning wire. It only wraps around the main conductors and use for fine tuning a system when installed. It acts like a coil winding and thus wrapping or unwrapping one turn or half a turn can adjust the sound easily.

I am offering a beautiful pair of Shun Mook 14' Vintage Western Electric Speaker cables terminated for "bare wire terminal" use. Getting down to basics here for real analog purists! Connectors color audio sound quite a bit, so this is the most pure version of these cables that Shun Mook offers. There are also some simple custom adaptor/connectors included if needed. These cables have almost 500 hours of burn in on them and were used in my store, The Audio Gallery in Lake Oswego, OR for approx 6 months. I have added to their "vintageness" because they have not been played for 5 years since I closed the store but have been stored in a super clean, no kids, no pets, no smoking, climate controlled spare room. The sound is open, clean, pure, articulate, natural, deep and truly enjoyable. We ran them on high efficiency horn speakers from OMA and Horning with various  Direct Heated Triode amps from Allnic. Magnificent, engaging sound!

These cables are intended to work best as an integrated and time aligned system so I'd recommend that you match them up with other Shun Mook products to best take advantage of their pure qualities and impeccable timing when used together as a cable system.
