This Solo is the first model center channel speaker manufactured by Sonus Faber. This is not the "Piccolo Solo" or the "Home Solo". This is the original, and better, version of the Solo.
The Solo uses the same 0.8-inch silk-dome tweeter as the Concerto Grand Piano along with two 7-inch woofers made of paper carbonium cones. The Solo is finished on all sides with black leather. This gives the speaker a non-reflective surface that makes it ideal for use under a front-projection screen. The binding posts are heavy duty metal and they allow for bi-wiring. The Solo is shielded and won't interfere with your TV's picture. It does everything a good center speaker should do. The dialogue sounds clear, with little coloration or distortion, and it has excellent horizontal dispersion—it directs the sound out evenly, in a wide fan shape, so that even if you're sitting off to the side of the room, you get much the same sound as if you were sitting in the center. This is easily one of the best center speakers I've heard.
Please note that the two bottom pegs of the speaker grille are missing. But, as you can see by the photos, the speaker grill remains attached to the speaker.
